If you don't have any Arab on Radar you are really missing out. I mean who wouldn't want to listen to a band who starts off one of their songs with "ejaculation is a waste of valuable resources"?
And Cobra Skulls is just fucking fantastic all around. I've only been able to get my hands on Eat Your Babies so far but if I get any others I will definitely be sharing it with you all.
The Capitalist Casualties and Hellnation split is nothing new. Capitalist Casualties might be abit more grindy but it's not much different. However, this record rules. Fast, fast, fast, fast and pissed as hell. I didn't even know Hellnation were a band anymore even and I had no idea Capitalist Casualties were writing anything. That's what makes this awesome, I guess.
Combined they play blistering power violence on the same level as some of the early greats like Crossed Out. The intro track is by far the best track on this record. The album art is incredible as seen below. I'd like to specify that this is not a split! It is a collaboration of pure hatred and anger manifested in intense hardcore. The picture above was taken by my friend Danny who's other photos can be found here (he's also in a kickass band called Magnum Force who's demo is up for download on this very blog) mediafire
No Religion is the 2006 debut LP from Bay Area Thrashers Peligro Social and the record stands out on it's own. The band deliberately chose a title that read the same in both Spanish and English. The Title track is fucking blistering. This band was incredible. Rock N Rolly hardcore punk.
Classic! The Born Against side opens with a loud sludgy hardcore track and closes with a pretty funny spoken word piece by Sam McPheeters. The Suckerpunch side is straight forward badly recorded hardcore. This split is simply awesome. Oh how I wish I still had it.
Media Fire This is Ecoli's first real record, though I think I may prefer the demo 7". 8 tracks of demented thrashcore that some how reminds me of Void. Insane artwork. Banned in Canada.
These guys are awesome Powerviolence from my home state of Arizona. Kick ass dudes, fun times, great thrash. MAGNUM FORCE. Nothing I can really say will grant them justice. Magnum Force play hardcore that's very similar to early PV. Sounds like listening to the best Spazz tunes and skate boarding. This tape includes a killer Infest cover, too. Check this out.
Universal Order Of Armageddon Media Fire Antioch Arrow style hardcore with members of Born Against. Check it. Words cannot describe how in love with this band I am.
Haymaker are a Canadian hardcore band featuring members of Cursed, The Swarm, Left For Dead and Chokehold. The did an awesome split with fucked up and are apparently a sight to behold live (Read as: super violent shows)
Now this isn't the greatest 7" of all time, but it is fast ripping hardcore and it does have an awesome Anthrax cover on it. Download.
Now's no time to be pretentious. This record is blistering. when you hear this record it will rip the carpet right out from under you. This is hardcore in the same vein as Siege, YDI, Deep Wound, Neon Christ and Neos. Fast, loud, pissed off and untalented THE WAY PUNK SHOULD BE. These kids hailed from Mesa, Arizona when Mesa was still 90% Mormon and had a far more corrupt police force. The riffs are tight, the songs are loud. Enjoy!
Audiobook pt.1 Audiobook pt.2 I started listening to the audio book at the suggestion of a friend though I've never really been a Cro-Mags fan. It's really good thus far, I can't believe I could get past John's voice or the stupidity of Hare Krishna but I did. Give it a listen, or buy the book as I assure you reading it is much better.
Sidenote: That's Aaron Kenyon from MitB being interviewed at the beginning, he works at Rhino Records in Claremont, California. He's one cool mother fucker Six Weeks Store
I'm not posting the link to download this one, it's been repressed, go buy it. Two of the best hardcore bands of all time. YOU NEED THIS RECORD.
